Engineered for safe, reliable operation with sensitive vintage hardware, RetroTap delivers low-noise, filtered power with exceptionally low ripple. Every output features its own resettable fuse for overcurrent protection, while the 9V input includes polarity protection for additional peace of mind.

With the appropriate cables, RetroTap supports more than 45 retro console variations, including systems from Nintendo, Sega, Atari, NEC, SNK, and more. Its combination of multiple barrel connector formats and a dedicated 5V USB-C output makes it possible to dramatically simplify the power setup behind a large retro gaming collection.

Power Supply Requirements:

RetroTap is compatible with a 9V DC, center-positive, 5.5 x 2.1mm power supply. A 5A to 6A supply is recommended. The Mean Well NGE65U09-P1J 9V/6A power supply is one recommended option.

Important: While up to 11 consoles can remain connected to RetroTap, Kytor recommends powering no more than four consoles simultaneously.

Compatibility Note: RetroTap is intended primarily for 9V DC-powered retro consoles and is not compatible with systems such as the Dreamcast, PlayStation 2, or Sega Saturn that connect directly to AC power and use internal power supplies. It is also not intended to power devices such as RetroTINK scalers, gscart switches, Koryuu, OSSC, or similar video processing equipment. RetroTap is not compatible with the TurboGrafx-CD Docking Base.
