Relive the battles of R-Type DX with this physical CD soundtrack collection. From the tense opening moments to massive boss encounters and the inevitable GAME OVER screen, the music of R-Type helped define the atmosphere of these notoriously challenging shoot-'em-ups.

This collection features 33 tracks spanning the music of R-Type and R-Type II, including 19 tracks from R-TYPE DX: Music Encore and 14 tracks from the original R-TYPE DX Game Boy soundtrack.

Music Encore features Game Boy-inspired remixes by WASi303 (Tetsuro Sato), guitarist, game music composer, and creator known for his work on projects including the Psyvariar series. His arrangements preserve the character and atmosphere of the original R-Type music while bringing a new interpretation to its distinctive sound.

The collection also celebrates the original music of Masato Ishizaki and Masahiko Ishida, with the original Game Boy arrangements by David Whittaker.

Created as a collectible companion to R-Type DX, this edition also features exclusive alternate artwork by anime artist Paul “OTAKING” Johnson and an exclusive interview with producer Nobuhiro Yoshikawa.
